New Look Shaw Tower Revealed

New Look Shaw Tower Revealed

Shaw Tower, the grand old dame of commercial property along Beach Road, has finally been demolished to make way for a brand-new state-of-the-art, vibrant mixed-use cluster. With 450,000 sq ft of premium Grade A office space and cultural and lifestyle features, the total floor area will be around 560,000 sq ft. There will be indoor community services, outdoor amphitheatre, sky gardens and terraces.

It is part of the Urban Redevelopment Authorities plan to rejuvenate the Ophir/Rochor area. One of the keys to the scheme will be its connectivity linking the adjoining mixed-use scheme of Guoco Midtown and a bridge link via South Beach Tower to Suntec City. Access to the scheme will be from Middle Road rather than Beach Road previously.

Another key feature of the scheme is its sustainable/eco-friendly design. The building will be digitally enabled and will have:

  • Building data analysis systems
  • Renewable power generation
  • Smart lighting systems
  • Active chilled beams
  • Designated BCA Green Mark

The 33-storey (200m tall) office tower is scheduled for completion late 2025. The architects are Aedas, the project manager is Lendlease and the developer is the Sir Run Run Shaw Charitable Trust (Hong Kong).
