A major transformation is under way on Beach Road as the former Golden Mile Complex enters its next chapter. Now named The Golden Mile, the 22-storey conserved building is being revitalised as a mixed-use commercial hub with offices, medical suites, retail and landscaped public spaces. The redevelopment sits at the heart of the Downtown Core, linking the Beach Road corridor to the wider Kallang lifestyle precinct and benefitting from direct access to Nicoll Highway, Bugis and Lavender MRT stations. A new 45-storey residential tower named Aurea will rise alongside it. The approximate total gross floor area is estimated to be 678,500 sq ft.

Honouring the original while preparing for the future

Once a pioneer of the “Live, Work and Play” concept, the building has been sensitively restored by a consortium led by Perennial Holdings and Far East Organization. Many of its original spatial signatures, including the expansive atriums, have been preserved, allowing visitors to experience familiar character-defining elements within a modernised environment. New vertical circulation systems, strengthened security measures and landscaped decks on Levels 9 and 18 elevate the building to contemporary standards.

An Architecture Centre, created under the URA Community/Sports Facilities Scheme, will anchor the development as a destination for architectural education and public engagement.

The commercial component comprises 156 strata-titled office units across about 405,000 sq ft of net floor area and 19 medical suites totalling around 32,000 sq ft. Complementing the workspace offering is a two-level retail podium, an amphitheatre for public events and a naturally ventilated indoor boulevard lined with greenery.

  • Loft Mezzanine (Levels 6 to 15)
    Split-level units from about 1,530 to 2,800 sq ft with double-volume voids, balconies and views over Kallang Basin. These layouts capture the spatial character of a shophouse within a secure high-rise setting.

  • Enterprise Offices (Levels 16 and 17)

Two landscaped decks reinforce the building’s biophilic design: the Sky Terrace on Level 9 and the Sky Garden on Level 18, both accessible to the public and designed as places of respite along the busy Beach Road corridor.

Adjacent to the commercial tower is Aurea, a new 45-storey residential building inspired by the linear architecture of the original development. Availability and completion timeline

Strata offices and medical suites are expected to launch for sale from December 2024, with vacant possession targeted for Q3 2029. A sales gallery is open by appointment.
